School Finance Officer Job Available at Secondary School in Salford

A Secondary School in Salford is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Finance Officer to play a key role in supporting the financial operations of their school. Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, Term time only + 4 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £30,559 - £33,366 DOE

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Finance Business Partner and Business Manager with day-to-day financial operations.
  • Manage financial transactions, process invoices and orders, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure compliance with financial procedures and contribute to budget monitoring.
  • Assist with VAT claims and monthly reporting
  • Provide finance training to staff and support governance reporting.
  • Oversee the ordering, receipt of goods and authorisation of payments through the school’s financial system and ensure swift payment of invoices.
  • Provide support to the Finance Business Partner in relation to external and internal audits as and when required.
  • Support the Finance Business Partner in the timely production of reports and data for the Business
    Committee and Local Accountability Board.

Key Skills/Experience:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Working towards a professional qualification in accountancy is essential.
  • Experience in financial administration within an educational setting is essential.
  • Strong IT and financial systems knowledge (PS Financials experience desirable).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team player with a commitment to confidentiality and continuous improvement.
