Finance Systems Transformation Business Partner/ Project Accountant Leeds Hybrid

Role Summary:
This role supports a major finance systems transformation programme, contributing to the design and implementation of new processes and systems. The successful candidate will work across multiple finance workstreams, lead projects, and act as a finance business partner to stakeholders across the organisation. The role is dynamic and will evolve based on programme priorities, offering exposure to a wide range of strategic and operational finance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support finance transformation projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to define and document finance requirements.
  • Drive process improvements with a focus on standardisation, automation, and efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships across finance and non-finance teams to support integrated solutions.
  • Represent finance in cross-functional working groups and governance forums.
  • Deliver high-quality project management from planning through to implementation.
  • Provide insight and challenge to support decision-making and change adoption.
Essential Experience & Skills:
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent senior-level finance experience.
  • Strong background in financial and management accounting, with broad process knowledge.
  • Proven track record in finance systems implementation and process change.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and influence strategic decisions.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Desirable:
  • Experience with SAP (including S/4HANA, Business Warehouse, Business Objects).
  • Project management qualifications.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies.
