Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of our client, who support individuals and families living with disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.
The role is crucial in ensuring the organisation performs effectively and efficiently, complying with all requisite external and internal reporting and compliance requirements, and will supervise a broad range of functions within the finance department, primarily focusing on management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as managing associated staff. Staff development and mentoring are key aspects of this role.
Your new role
- Contribute to Finance Improvement Plans for services.
- Assist with grant applications and claims.
- Support grant and verification audits.
- Lead supplier contract reviews and renewals, including tender processes.
- Prepare monthly management accounts reports, including variance reports.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide project management support.
- Ensure compliance with statutory returns (e.g., Companies House, Charity Commission).
- Promote GDPR compliance and cyber security within the department.
- Line management and staff training.
- Support and mentor staff.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, or ACCA).
- At least 3 years’ experience in a finance function within a large, diverse organisation.
- Experience in management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Knowledge of ISO systems or other quality management systems.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with grant funding, including grant claims and applications.
- Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
