Contract: Up to 3 months with the possibility of this extending
Rate: £15.00 – £17.50 per hour (depending on experience)

A respected organisation in the construction / housing sector is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their Finance Business Partnering team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful development projects while working in a flexible, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Finance team in delivering high-quality accounting, compliance, and financial management services.
- Ensure accurate recording of daily financial transactions across finance and operational systems.
- Deliver excellent internal customer service by managing account reconciliations, rent postings, and resolving queries.
- Process purchase invoices, manage payment runs, and ensure timely and accurate submission of payments and tax records.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, and partners to resolve queries and reconcile statements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, policies, and compliance standards.
- Manage intercompany transactions and perform regular reconciliations.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Promote best practices in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Support the preparation of management reports, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts.
- Provide financial insights and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including VAT.
- Identify and escalate financial risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Carry out additional duties as required by management.
Essential:
- Part-qualified AAT or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a finance function
- Strong Excel skills and financial systems knowledge
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Experience with Sun and Sequel systems
- Background in development finance
Additional Info:
- Basic DBS check required
- Must be available to work from the Chelmsford office twice per month
