A well-established organisation is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a supportive environment. The role offers varied responsibilities across financial processing, procurement, budget monitoring, income administration and finance operations, whilst working closely with a collaborative finance team.


Your new role

As Finance Assistant, you will provide high-quality financial and administrative support, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with financial regulations and audit requirements. Responsibilities will include

  • Processing purchase orders, invoices, expense claims and credit card transactions

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and audit trails.

  • Supporting supplier management, resolving invoice and delivery queries and verifying supplier bank details

  • Assisting with procurement processes and ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures.

  • Providing budget information and monitoring outstanding purchase orders and commitments.

  • Supporting income processing, refunds, reconciliations and debtor management.

  • Assisting with month-end finance activities and preparing documentation for audits.

  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, data protection requirements and internal policies.

  • Providing general administrative support to the wider finance function.


What you'll need to succeed


  • Experience working within a busy finance environment.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • An understanding of financial controls and finance processes.
  • Experience of financial processing such as purchase ledger, income processing and reconciliations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, reliable and self-motivated approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to work across multiple sites.
  • Experience of accounting systems such as Xero and ApprovalMax

What you'll get in return

  • Salary of £26,400 - £28,000
