Finance Assistant
Full-time | 40 hours per week | Office-based training, then Hybrid: 1 day WFH per week after passing probation

A rapidly growing UK-based group is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their expanding Central Accounting Services Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a large, fast‑paced finance function that supports a wide portfolio of group companies.
Role Overview
You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality transactional accounting services across multiple group businesses. Full training will be provided on‑site at the Helsby office, with the opportunity to work 1 day from home per week after successfully completing a six‑month probation period.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices and employee expenses using a paperless automated accounts system across multi‑currency databases
- Verifying receipts against company expense policies and identifying VAT reclaimable under HMRC guidelines
- Handling supplier queries and responding to payment requests
- Verifying supplier bank details to ensure accurate and secure payment processing
- Processing weekly supplier and employee expense payment runs
- Reviewing CIS deductions and assisting with the completion of returns
Person Specification
- AAT or equivalent accounting qualification (advantageous), or qualified by experience
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial information
- A collaborative team player with a proactive approach
Salary & Benefits
