Finance Assistant | Ellesmere Port | £25K - £27K + Bonus | Hybrid working

Finance Assistant
Location: Ellesmere Port
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Hybrid working: 3 days in office, 2 days at home
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 + Bonus

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join a dynamic finance team responsible for managing all financial operations across the group. This role requires flexibility to support various finance functions and ad hoc duties, ensuring smooth financial processes and accurate reporting.


Tasks & responsibilities include:


  • Daily reconciliation of bank account(s), including posting to Sage for any payments/ receipts
  • Responsibility for the operation of the Purchase Ledger Reconciliation
  • Responsibility for the operation of the Sales Ledger – including the weekly Debtor reviews
  • Daily submission of Direct Debits
  • Weekly Payment collections – TTA / ACAS / Travel Ledger / Direct Debit
  • Administering supplier payments
  • Weekly Refund Run
  • Preparation of Monthly Spreadsheets
  • Supporting the team with reconciliations and ad hoc tasks that will assist with the preparation of management accounts
  • Liaising with the operations department on any queries that may arise
  • Dealing with queries from tour operators and travel agents
  • Provide reports to assist with the audit of data held

We are looking for:


  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot tables
  • Experience of dealing with large volumes of data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for time management, accuracy and organisation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • A self-motivated team player with the ability to work on your own initiative and make informed decisions – we’d love it if you’re a keen problem solver, creative thinker or can demonstrate commercial acumen.
  • A Level Maths / Accountancy / working towards AAT, or relevant experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
