We’re working with a growing business in Runcorn to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their established finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a varied role with real development potential, including study support and hybrid working.

The Role

This is a hands-on and varied position supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing supplier invoices in line with financial procedures
  • Managing accounts payable and supporting weekly payment runs
  • Downloading and processing daily bank receipts
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger
  • Managing part of the debtor ledger, including chasing outstanding payments and issuing statements
  • Liaising with customers to agree payment plans
  • Supporting month-end processes and general accounting tasks
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies
You’ll also provide occasional support with employee expenses processing.

About You

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or a similar finance role
  • Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident using Excel and accounting systems (Oracle experience desirable)
  • Well organised with strong time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
