Temporary Finance Assistant job in Bradford.

Purpose of the Role

The Finance Assistant will provide day-to-day financial support, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in line with policies and procedures. This role is key to maintaining robust financial systems and supporting the wider finance team in delivering high-quality financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Support budget monitoring, ensuring income and expenditure are accurately recorded.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and payments in line with procurement procedures.
  • Carry out reconciliations, including bank, payroll, and supplier accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records using finance systems, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Provide support with month-end and year-end processes.
  • Liaise with suppliers and colleagues to resolve queries promptly.
  • Assist with financial planning activities, including staffing and resource costs.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems and procedures.
  • Provide occasional cover for colleagues and support wider operational functions when required.
Candidate Profile

  • AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience in finance administration or accounting support.
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
