Payroll Assistant Job- 3-6 month contract

Based in Glasgow, our client is recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis for a duration of 3–6 months. The role is a 35-hour working week, with standard hours being 9am–5pm Monday to Friday. This role offers a flexible working environment, including hybrid working options to support work-life balance. Your new role

As Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end payroll services across the organisation. You’ll play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing while supporting the wider function with your expertise and proactive approach.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full payroll cycle from input to reconciliation and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies
  • Liaising with HR and Finance teams to resolve queries and improve processes
  • Supporting audits and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices

What you'll need to succeed

You will have solid experience in end-to-end payroll processing and a strong understanding of payroll legislation. Experience with iTrent or similar payroll systems is highly desirable. You’ll be a confident communicator and a natural team player who can integrate seamlessly into a supportive and fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
