Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a rapidly growing & established manufacturing group to recruit a dynamic & hands-on Senior Finance Assistant for their close-knit accounting function based in Ledbury, Herefordshire. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position will take control of all transactional processes, along with supporting month-end procedures. Development/progression opportunities, along with a study package for AAT/ACCA/CIMA if required. Your new role

Key duties involve processing purchase invoices, reconciling supplier statements, cash book entries, supplier payment processes, along with credit card and personal expense processing. You will support with a range of month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, journals and fixed asset register, along with balance sheet reconciliations. You will be involved in general financial administration, bookkeeping and ad-hoc projects for senior management. There is an opportunity to be involved in further financial processes as you develop within the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this varied Senior Finance Assistant role, you will need experience in a similar position. Ideally, AAT qualified or working towards completion of a finance qualification or qualified by experience. With strong knowledge of transactional finance processes, key MS Excel skills, and experience in a range of financial systems. Good communication skills to build both internal/external relationships, an ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines, along with being willing to learn and adapt to business needs. You will be a team player, but also comfortable taking ownership of your own tasks. Experience with month-end processes within the manufacturing sector would be advantageous but not essential.

This permanent Senior Finance Assistant role offers a salary between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Ledbury, Herefordshire.
