Finance Analyst - 12 month FTC - Runcorn - £50,000-£55,000 + Bonus, Hybrid Working

Hays Senior Finance is working with a global company to recruit for a Finance Analyst job paying £50,000- £55,000 + bonus + 2 days WFH. The company has operations in multiple countries across Europe and sells both B2B and B2C across multiple sectors. Their broad product portfolio and client base has enabled significant growth over the last ten years and numerous acquisitions. This is a maternity cover Finance Analyst FTC to report to the Head of FP&A.
A strong accounting background is key to success in the role as well as current analytical skills in a relevant role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership of the Directors’ report, producing and understanding all aspects of the financials. Conducting a monthly review with senior Management highlighting trends, opportunities and threats. Recording all progress against action points raised in the meetings.
  • Take the lead in validating all Gross Margins (Price Discounts) of the business and ensuring all deals are within the Gross Margin hierarchy approval. Provide assistance with quotes and tenders.
  • Assist in the development of financial modelling, scenario planning and business case preparation to assist with strategic decisions.
  • Conduct deal reviews. Check pricing versus agreed contracts / pricing thresholds.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and providing explanations of unexpected variances.
  • Investigate and understand OPEX variances to budget by drilling down in Oracle accounts, utilising the ‘day book’ report, SmartView, ATLAS, and certify reports.
  • Ownership of the segment budget process, producing all supporting documentation required for the process and ensuring all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Ownership of weekly orders, shipments and backlog reconciliation demonstrating outstanding attention to detail and the ability to reconcile a large volume of data.
Knowledge Skills and Attributes
  • Relevant accounting/financial degree and 4+ years experience as a business analyst in a matrix organisation
  • Familiar with programs such as Oracle, SAP or Hyperion
  • Excellent Excel skills including macro writing
  • Confident creating and executing presentations
  • Strong commercial judgement and acumen
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and interact with various levels of a business
