Finance Administrator Job Available at Primary School in Heaton Chapel

Hays are working with a Primary School in Heaton Chapel who are seeking a professional and organised Finance Administrator to join their busy school office team on a temporary (potentially temp to perm) basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced school environment and providing excellent support to pupils, staff and parents

As a Finance Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school’s financial operations. You will work closely with the School Business Manager and leadership team to maintain accurate financial records and support budgeting processes.

Location: Heaton Chapel, SK4
Hours: Part-time, term time only
Contract: Temporary for 2 months, potential to extend into a long-term role
Start Date: ASAP

What You'll Be Doing
Process orders, invoices, and payments in line with school procedures
Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile accounts
Assist with budget monitoring and reporting
Manage petty cash and school income, including trips and dinners
Liaise with suppliers, staff, and external agencies
Support financial audits and ensure compliance with policies
Use school finance systems (SIMS FMS)

What We're Looking For
Has experience working in a finance/administration role within a school
Demonstrates excellent numerical and organisational skills
Is highly accurate and attentive to detail
Can work independently and manage competing priorities
Has good IT skills, including Excel and SIMS FMS
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
