Finance Administrator - Public Sector - Belfast - Hybrid working

Your new role

As an Administrative Officer within the Finance Department, you will provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth running of operations. This varied role involves handling sensitive information, maintaining accurate records, and supporting colleagues with a range of tasks. You will manage correspondence, prepare documents, take minutes, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing general administrative and clerical support, including telephone handling and document preparation.
  • Typing services such as word processing, audio typing, and copy typing.
  • Maintaining manual and electronic filing systems in line with GDPR.
  • Handling confidential information and responding to queries professionally.
  • Preparing reports, letters, and spreadsheets for management.
  • Assisting with meetings, including note-taking and document distribution.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade A–C) including English and Maths or NVQ Level II in Administration.
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in an administrative role within Finance, Legal, HR, Regulatory, or Criminal Justice environments (or 2 years without formal qualifications).
  • Experience handling sensitive data in line with data protection regulations.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use initiative.
