Your new role
This pivotal Facilities Manager job is based at a school who has a strong commitment to maintaining high standards within the school environment. This Facilities Manager role will consist of:
- Responsible for multiple school sites and teams within the Trust
- Line manage building supervisors, caretakers and cleaners across multiple sites.
- Liaise with relevant Trust departments and officers on premises-related matters.
- Work in collaboration with the Business Manager and Trust Facilities Manager to manage the premises budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and value for money.
- Work closely with the Trust Health and Safety Manager to implement Trust-wide H&S strategies and objectives.
- Lead the annual Health & Safety audits and liaise with Trust H&S officers as required.
- Oversee fire safety measures, including checks of alarms, extinguishers, drill records and fire doors.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Professional qualification in Facilities Management
- Experience in the education sector is ideal, but not essential.
- Ability to complete detailed and complex reports, forms and statutory/compliance returns
- Have strong communication skills
- Have the highest levels of integrity
- The ability to motivate and inspire colleagues
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships
- Ability to operate effectively when working under pressure
This job is a temporary position in the first instance. We will need to be able to obtain references to cover the last 2 years as a minimum, and you will need to be willing to undergo a DBS check if you don't already have a DBS on the update service. You will be required to hold 5 or more GCSEs, inclusive of Maths and English for this role at grade 4 or above.
