Director of Facilities Services

Your new company
Hays are delighted to be working with a specialist provider delivering high-performance facilities across life sciences, pharma, and other critical environments. As an employee-owned and independent business, they design, build, validate and maintain complex technical spaces where innovation happens – from cutting-edge research facilities to highly controlled clean room environments.

Their Facilities Services division supports the ongoing performance of these environments, ensuring compliance, uptime, and operational excellence for clients operating at the forefront of science and technology.

Your new role
As Facilities Service Lead, you will take on a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing technical service delivery across specialist and regulated environments. Acting as a key client interface, you will ensure services are delivered to the highest standard while building strong, long-term relationships.

This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery and client engagement – requiring someone who can confidently lead teams, understand complex environments, and ask the right questions to drive value across both service delivery and client outcomes.

You will also play a key role in supporting the growth of the Scotland Division, identifying opportunities within existing accounts and contributing to the wider development of the business.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Strong background in technical FM / hard services
  • Ability to spot opportunities to enhance service offering and add value to existing client relationships
  • Experience operating within specialist or critical environments (e.g. pharma, life sciences, laboratories, cleanrooms)
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams
  • Comfortable engaging with clients and stakeholders at a senior level
  • Ability to understand complex environments and challenge constructively through asking the right questions
  • Experience overseeing technical service delivery within regulated or high-compliance settings

What you'll get in return
  • Opportunity to take on a senior, leadership position within a growing specialist business
  • Exposure to highly technical, niche sectors with long-term career value
  • Autonomy to shape and grow a regional function
  • Work within an employee-owned organisation where your contribution directly impacts success
  • Competitive salary and benefits package aligned to experience
