Full-time Business Support Assistant in Birmingham, fully in office and ASAP start

Your new company

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Business Support Assistant to join a Local Authority on a full-time basis. This is a vital role supporting meetings and data processes related to young offenders, requiring resilience, accuracy, and strong administrative skills. This is a temporary opportunity for 6 months.

Your new role

As part of your responsibilities, you will attend regular meetings, take accurate notes, and produce formal reports within a 24-hour service level agreement (SLA). These meetings may involve sensitive information, so the ability to remain professional and composed is essential. You will also receive daily reports from the police, which must be carefully reviewed and entered into the system. A high level of attention to detail is crucial to ensure data accuracy and avoid duplication. In addition, you may occasionally be required to handle petty cash and provide further administrative support to the wider team.

What you'll need to succeed

Candidates must have experience in note-taking, data entry, and be confident using Microsoft Word and Excel. Due to the nature of the work, resilience and discretion are key qualities we’re looking for.

What you'll get in return

In return, you’ll be part of a supportive team environment, gain valuable experience in a sensitive and impactful area of work, and develop your skills in a fast-paced, professional setting. This role is
fully office-based, with work taking place in either Birmingham City Centre or Aston. You will also receive payment on a weekly basis and an hourly rate of £14.12.
