Executive Assistant to Chief Executive

Salary: £47,319 – £59,509 Location:
London (Hybrid working – approx. 2 days a week in office)
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours/week
Contract Type: Permanent

A respected UK government organisation is seeking a highly capable and proactive Executive Assistant to support its Chief Executive. This is a key role within a high-performing executive office, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and contribute to the delivery of strategic priorities across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and prioritise the Chief Executive’s diary, inbox, and correspondence, ensuring efficient time management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate briefings and logistics for internal and external meetings, events, and speaking engagements.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and delivery of key actions.
  • Organise travel and accommodation for UK and international engagements.
  • Support wider executive office functions including scheduling senior leadership meetings and staff communications.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with other Executive Assistants and contribute to continuous improvement of support processes.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience supporting senior leaders in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional diary and inbox management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make informed decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and inclusive working practices.

Desirable
  • Experience in a regulatory, government, or political environment.
