Estimator – Permanent – Leicester – Established Contractor – Civil Engineering & Groundworks

Your new company

You will be joining a well-established and forward-thinking civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Leicester, delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions for both public and private sector clients. This contractor offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development, and as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking an Estimator to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Leicester office.

Your new role

As Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction team, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of civil engineering and groundworks projects. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents to produce detailed cost estimates
  • Gathering and analysing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Assessing project risks and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
  • Preparing bids and supporting tender submissions to secure new contracts
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers and clients to ensure estimates align with design and budget requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful, you will have:
  • Experience estimating within civil engineering and/or groundworks
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. CostX, Bluebeam or similar tools)
  • Sound negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
