M&E Mechanical Estimator, Salary up to £55K

We are bringing to the market an exciting new role on behalf of an expanding Contractor based in Edinburgh, specialising in a diverse range of commercial projects. Their commitment to excellence and innovation has positioned their organisation as a leader in the industry.

Our client is seeking a commercially biased Mechanical Estimator with a high level of experience in the industry to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical projects, ensuring that all bids are submitted on time and meet the client’s requirements.

Your new role
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labour expenses.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Participate in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to execution.
What you will need
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the M&E contracting industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
