Your new role
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of construction projects by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates. You will work closely with the pre-construction and commercial teams to analyse tender documents, assess project requirements, and develop pricing strategies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and evaluate pricing.
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within tenders.
- Supporting bid submissions and attending pre- and post-tender meetings.
- Collaborating with project managers, quantity surveyors, and design teams to ensure alignment on project scope and budget.
- Maintaining and updating estimating databases and tools.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in estimating within the construction industry, ideally with experience across a range of sectors. You should be commercially aware, detail-oriented, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. Key requirements include:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in a main contracting or construction environment.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in construction, quantity surveying, or a related discipline.
