Assistant Estimator required to work on Civil Engineering across the Northwest
A long‑established Civil Engineering Contractor is looking to recruit an Assistant Estimator to join its expanding pre‑construction team. This role is ideal for someone with a technical background who wants to grow into a full Estimator position while working on a wide variety of Civil Engineering schemes
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Carrying out quantity take-offs and preparing bill of quantities
- Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Assisting with cost planning, value engineering and tender analysis
- Maintaining accurate tender records and internal pricing databases
- Collaborating with engineers, project managers and commercial teams
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience within Estimating, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying (Civil Engineering preferred)
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem‑solving ability
- Ability to interpret Civil Engineering drawings
- Confident user of Excel; exposure to estimating systems beneficial
- Good communication, organisation and time‑management skills
- A proactive, positive attitude with a desire to develop professionally
