Your new role


  • Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured English lessons aligned with the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
  • Teach a range of abilities, supporting pupils as they develop key skills in reading, writing, speaking, and analytical thinking.
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify gaps in learning, and inform future teaching.
  • Work collaboratively with the English department, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to ensure high‑quality provision across the key stages.
  • Create a positive, stimulating classroom environment that inspires a love of literature and language and enables students to thrive.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS, ECT).
  • Experience teaching in KS3/4 (placement experience considered).
  • Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development.
  • A positive, child-centred approach to teaching.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
