Your new role

Starting in September, you’ll join the English department to deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school is open to applications from full-time, part-time, and supply teachers — including retired professionals — who can offer high-quality teaching and inspire students to develop a lifelong love of reading, writing, and critical thinking.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching English across KS3 and KS4, with potential for KS5 depending on experience.
  • Planning and delivering lessons that support progress, creativity, and confidence.
  • Supporting students in developing analytical and expressive skills.
  • Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school literacy initiatives.
  • Encouraging participation in enrichment activities such as book clubs, writing competitions, and drama events.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting (including during training).
