Employment Lawyer (3-Month rolling contract)

Join a collaborative legal service supporting a London Borough. As part of a forward-thinking and supportive team, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services that directly impact public sector transformation and community wellbeing.

Your new role

As an Employment Lawyer, you’ll provide expert legal advice and representation on a wide range of employment matters. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling Employment Tribunal cases and advising on TUPE
  • Supporting HR teams and senior officers with complex employment law issues
  • Drafting and negotiating legal documents and settlements
  • Managing a varied caseload with autonomy and professionalism
  • Contributing to the development of legal services across the partnership

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • To be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
  • At least 5 years PQE in employment law
  • Public sector or local government experience
  • A history of longer-term placements (6+ months), with at least 10 months in a local authority or public sector setting
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Tribunals and TUPE
  • The ability to attend the office once a week or fortnight, as agreed
