Employment Lawyer

Your new company

A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a talented Employment Associate to join its well‑established London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with solid technical grounding and broad employment experience to take on high‑quality work within a supportive, collaborative and forward‑thinking environment.

You’ll work across the full spectrum of employment matters – contentious, advisory, transactional and investigative – while benefiting from direct client exposure, strong mentoring, and clear opportunities for progression.

Your new role

  • Advise a wide range of clients including business owners, senior executives, HR teams, in‑house counsel and public/private sector organisations.
  • Handle the full breadth of employment matters, including drafting employment documentation, advising on employee relations issues (disciplinary, grievance, performance), and managing Employment Tribunal claims – often involving complex whistleblowing and discrimination matters.
  • Support on corporate transactions, including due diligence and TUPE‑related advice.
  • Assist in running internal workplace investigations.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships, contributing to the team’s reputation for technical excellence and commercial insight.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across other departments and support business development initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential:
  • Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 1–4 PQE in employment law.
  • Experience spanning contentious, non‑contentious and transactional employment work.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to manage your own caseload effectively.
Desirable:
  • A clear understanding of client needs and expectations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities, with confidence in handling competing priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset combined with the ability to work autonomously when needed.
  • A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to work outside standard hours when necessary.
  • Commitment to high professional standards and internal best‑practice procedures.

What you'll get in return

  • Minimum 25 days’ annual leave, plus birthday leave and Christmas closure
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Holiday buy, sell and carryover options
  • Two charity volunteering or pro bono days
  • Optional private medical insurance
  • Annual fitness allowance
  • Flexible pension scheme
  • ISA savings scheme and access to independent financial advice
  • Electric/hybrid car lease scheme
  • Medicash
  • Employee Assistance Programme with counselling support
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Reproductive health support
  • Up to 10 days of fully subsidised emergency care per year
  • Life assurance and income protection
  • Season ticket loan
  • Hybrid working and “dress for your day” policy
  • Bespoke training and development opportunities
  • Financial contribution towards home‑working equipment
