Electrical Supervisor is required for HMP Highpoint Prison.

- Location: HMP Highpoint, Suffolk
- Duration: 3-month contract
- Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm &Friday 8:00am–4:00pm
- Rate: £24.90/hour (Premium Rate)
- Start Date: ASAP
️ Role Overview:
We’re seeking a highly skilled Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical operations at HMP Highpoint. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring technical expertise, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage a small team in a secure environment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate electrical maintenance and installation tasks
- Prioritise workloads and manage time effectively across multiple projects
- Lead and support a team of electricians and contractors
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and prison security protocols
- Maintain accurate records and documentation using Microsoft Office
- Liaise with prison staff and external stakeholders as required
- Overseeing PPMs & reactive maintenance
Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must hold the following:- SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
➕ Desirable Qualifications:
- Gold JIB Card
- City & Guilds 2391 – Testing & Inspection
✅ Candidate Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proven experience supervising electrical teams
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work within a secure and regulated environment
- Must be able to pass enhanced security clearance

All applicants who are interested in the position must pass Prison Clearance, which can take approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Once passed, this is valid for 5 years and can be transferred to any other prisons of a similar category.
