Your New Role
Working as an electrical maintenance engineer you will have experience of working on new installation projects as well as everyday duties such as electrical fault-finding and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure continuous operation of a busy plant.
Whilst on shift your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Diagnose and repair faults on plant control systems • Investigate the nature of plant failures and subsequently carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible • Carry out instrumentation, control and automation maintenance on a variety of production site equipment, including planned maintenance and reactive maintenance • Install, modify and commission new plant equipment to high standards • Examples of instrumentation you could be working on are: flowmeters, pressure levels, ultrasonic, thermocouples, proximity sensors, modern machines.
Ensure, as part of the maintenance team, a safe, clean and tidy working environment is maintained • Provide specialist technical advice where appropriate • Comply with current workshop and site risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work • Produce ‘Point of Work Risk Assessments’ whenever necessary to ensure all potential hazards involved with specific tasks are identified and reduced/removed • Ensure that where required, all compliance documentation regarding the company Quality Management System.
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this post you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and experience:
Essential Criteria• Electrical City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ Qualification
Proven experience with operational plant and control systems • Interpreting Electrical Drawings, fault-finding from schematic drawings and working with inverter drives • Relay Logic and PLCs • Calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation • Meeting health & safety requirements • Work with a flexible, methodical and lateral thinking approach to problem-solving • Have a willingness to learn and the ability to work as part of a team • Good communication skills and time management • Be Physically fit to perform the role – able to operate electrical equipment, lift, climb, stand and work at height or confined spaces without any problem.
Desirable Requirements:
HND or HNC qualified in the appropriate electrical discipline • Skilled in utilising lean tools and techniques and developing a continuous improvement culture • Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
What You'll Get In Return
This days-based role offers a highly competitive salary for working a standard 45-hour week across Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:00. Enhanced OT rates are also available and flexibility is required to cover additional shifts at peak production times throughout the year.
