Electrical Engineer - R&D
Role Overview
A leading R&D team specialising in emerging technology is seeking an experienced engineer with strong expertise in electrical engineering. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a project-focused environment and is motivated to apply innovative approaches to real-world applications. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing electrical systems that integrate different technologies, with a hands-on approach to prototyping, testing, and system validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems within automotive
- Integrate electrical systems alongside mechanical
- Build and evaluate prototypes and wiring harnesses
- Analyse vehicle and component performance data
- Configure CAN-based systems and manage electro-mechanical component sourcing
- Lead cross-functional collaboration on technical projects
- Provide resource planning support for R&D activities
Essential Skills
- A track record of delivering results across R&D projects
- Solid understanding of vehicle architecture and component integration
- Skilled in sensors, actuators, ECUs, and control systems
- Interested in building and validating first-of-a-kind prototypes
- Strong communication, reporting, and confidentiality skills
- Willingness to travel for field work and collaboration
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical/Automotive Engineering or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems or EV components
- Ability to produce and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Familiarity with batteries, BMS, inverters, thermal management, and system integration
- Experience with mechanical-electrical interface on vehicles
