Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

Your new role

As a Shift Engineer / Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias), you will work as part of the onsite engineering team to ensure equipment reliability and minimise downtime across a busy manufacturing operation. Working on a structured 8‑week rotating shift pattern (average 42 hours per week), you will carry out planned maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns and support ongoing improvements across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Fault‑finding on production machinery, electrical systems and automation equipment
  • Working on motors, drives, conveyors, control panels and mechanical components
  • Supporting engineering improvements, efficiency projects and reliability initiatives
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site standards
  • Maintaining accurate engineering records and contributing to shift handovers
  • Working collaboratively with production teams to enhance machine uptime
Shift pattern (12‑hour shifts): 8‑week rota including days, nights and weekends Average: 42 hours per week

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A recognised engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship
  • Strong electrical bias with additional mechanical capability
  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
  • Confident diagnostic and fault‑finding ability on electrical systems
  • Familiarity with PLC‑controlled machinery, drives and automation equipment
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently on shift
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to health & safety
