Senior/Lead EC&I Engineer
Role Overview
A leading engineering services organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to support the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across a range of industrial sectors. This position offers the opportunity to lead technical workstreams, contribute to project strategy, and mentor junior engineers within a collaborative and safety-focused environment. Due to the nature of the work and associated security requirements, this role is only open to British nationals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead EC&I design and engineering activities across multiple concurrent projects
- Produce and review technical documentation including specifications, drawings, and functional design descriptions
- Conduct engineering calculations, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions
- Provide technical input during procurement, installation, and commissioning phases
- Ensure all work adheres to health, safety, and environmental standards
- Support the development of junior engineers through coaching and technical guidance
Candidate Profile
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in EC&I engineering within industrial or infrastructure environments
- Strong working knowledge of applicable standards (e.g. IEC, BS, ATEX) and safety systems
- Proficient in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, and PLC programming platforms
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is advantageous
- Must be a British national to meet security clearance requirements
