Monday-Friday days 37.5 hours per week

Your new role:
Based in South Essex, you will be joining a well-known manufacturing company which specialises in the design, manufacturing, build and installation of automated machinery working in several industries. With a large order book and continuous projects for the next 3–6 years, this is an excellent time to join an ever-expanding business.
The business now has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding Design team.

Working alongside the mechanical & electrical design team as well as the projects team, the shop floor and more, you will be working on and exposed to several high-value projects, overseeing the full electrical design life-cycle.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Assisting with the ongoing drawing transition from AutoCAD to EPLAN, working with the rest of the Automation Department to agree on methods of working and drawing standards
  • Generating electrical drawings and panel layouts, with supporting electrical documentation (Bill of Materials, Component Lists, Cable Schedules, Terminal Rail Layouts etc.)
  • Ensure all electrical drawings are updated promptly throughout the life cycle of the project and shared with all relevant departments
  • Maintain a database of preferred electrical devices to ensure consistency in functional hardware from project to project.

This is just a summed-up list, and other duties will be required.

Experience & Skills needed:
  • Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g. apprenticeship)
  • Experience in a similar Electrical Design-based role
  • Knowledge of EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel 3D is a necessity.
  • Flexibility and curiosity with a willingness to learn and apply themselves to areas with which they are not familiar
  • Knowledge of automated machinery is highly advantageous.
