Graduate Electrical Design Engineer : £25,000 to £35,000 | Nottinghamshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading privately owned Building Services Consultancy that has a permanent vacancy for a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer based in their Nottingham office.

This position is ideal for either a Post Graduate Electrical Engineer or an Apprenticeship-trained Electrician looking to transition into a design environment. You will collaborate with other electrical designers on a variety of projects across different sectors, delivering services from feasibility to detailed and fully coordinated designs for installation purposes (RIBA Stages 0 to 5).

A primary focus will be on HV network design and managing utility services applications, but you will also assist with the design of all electrical building services, including LV distribution, lighting, small power, and fire and security systems. Training will be provided for design software packages such as ETAP, AMTEC, and Relux.

As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will work alongside electrical and mechanical building services Design Engineers and Revit Technicians as part of a multidisciplinary team, producing detailed, complex, and sustainable building services designs in both 2D and 3D environments.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in electrical and electronic engineering or equivalent, or apprenticeship-trained electrician with City & Guild qualifications.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    Willingness and ability to use design software (ETAP, AMTEC, Relux, Revit, AutoCAD).
    Strong time management and organisational skills with a flexible attitude.
    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    Good attention to detail and communication skills.
    Responsible, punctual, reliable, and hard-working.
