As a Hays Education recruitment consultant, I’m excited to be working with a thriving, high‑performing mainstream secondary school in Preston that is looking to welcome a passionate DT specialist to their team. This is a full‑time position, starting September, and you will be paid to scale from your very first day—no waiting, no uncertainty, just the salary you deserve.

  • Excellent facilities, including well‑equipped workshops and modern DT suites
  • A culture that celebrates hands‑on learning, problem‑solving, and student curiosity
  • A genuinely warm, collaborative staff team where new teachers settle in quickly

About the role
As the school’s new DT Teacher, you’ll be delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the freedom to bring your own ideas, projects, and teaching style to the classroom. Whether your strengths lie in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or Food Technology, the department is open and flexible.
You’ll be joining a department that values creativity, practical learning, and real‑world application, giving you the space to make a real impact on students who love getting stuck into DT.

What you can expect
  • Full‑time, long‑term role starting September
  • Pay to scale from day one (MPS/UPS)
  • Ongoing support from your dedicated Hays Education consultant
  • Opportunities for CPD and long‑term progression within the school

Who we’re looking for
  • A qualified DT specialist with QTS or QTLS
  • Someone who thrives in a practical, creative environment
  • A teacher who can inspire students and bring DT to life
