Design Technology (DT) Teacher - West Leicestershire-based Secondary School
Location: West Leicestershire
Job Type: Full-Time
Start Date: After Easter
About the Role:
Hays are in partnership with an Ofsted-rated 'Good' Secondary School in West Leicestershire who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology (DT) Teacher to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will primarily teach KS3 DT/Food, with a small portion of the timetable dedicated to Year 10 Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in KS3 DT/Food.
- Teach Year 10 Engineering for 6 lessons per fortnight.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to inspire students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching DT/Food at KS3 level.
- Knowledge of Engineering principles and ability to teach Year 10 Engineering.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
