Your new role
As a Repairs Surveyor, you’ll play a vital role in diagnosing and resolving property issues that significantly impact the housing association residents’ quality of life. You’ll manage a caseload of disrepair claims and damp & mould reports, ensuring timely, effective, and customer-focused solutions.
What you'll need to succeed
- Conduct thorough property inspections to assess disrepair and damp/mould issues.
- Prepare detailed reports, including schedules of work and cost estimates.
- Liaise with legal teams on disrepair claims and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Oversee contractors and ensure works are completed to a high standard.
- Provide expert advice to residents and internal teams on preventative measures.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous service improvement.
- Proven experience in a similar surveying role, ideally within social housing.
- Strong knowledge of building pathology, especially damp & mould diagnostics.
- Familiarity with disrepair legislation and housing standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Building Surveying or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).
