Senior UX Designer 18-month FTC role at UAL
As Senior UX Designer, you will be instrumental in establishing and embedding UX, design, research, and accessibility standards across our teams. This role will sit within the Teaching & Learning Service in our Digital & Technology practice and will work closely with the UAL Online team.
You will create visual and descriptive representations of the user journey in our learning management system (LMS), Moodle, evolving designs and building prototypes that work within the constraints of the learning platform to iteratively deliver an outstanding online learning experience.
The role includes leading UX design services and enhancing existing products, whilst working closely with learning designers and educators to provide an excellent learning experience. This role will also be responsible for developing data-driven processes, ensuring UX effectiveness and alignment with agile methodologies, enabling the team to deliver value swiftly. The role will also be an active member of our design community in Digital and Technology, providing coaching and mentoring support to other members.
This is an 18-month fixed-term contract.
Experience
- Demonstrable knowledge, experience, and passion for user-centred design, with expertise in a range of UX tools and techniques.
- Demonstrable experience working on learning management system initiatives (preferably Moodle)
- Extensive experience applying design thinking and UX methodologies across the full product lifecycle.
- Exceptional storytelling, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate research insights, user feedback, and data into actionable design solutions.
- Ability to mentor and coach designers and uphold high-quality design standards within teams.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary agile teams to deliver iterative, user-centred solutions at pace.
