DT & Food technology technician vacancy - Runcorn

Hays education are proudly working in partnership with an amazing high school in Warrington who are seeking a DT and Food technology technician to join their team on a long term basis. The school are dedicated to providing their students with hands on engaging learning experiences while maintaining a safe and efficient learning environment.
Your new role
- Prepare and maintain equipment, tools, and materials for practical lessons in Design Technology and Food Technology.
- Assist teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring safe usage of equipment and tools.
- Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and safety checks on machinery and equipment, including woodworking, metalworking, and culinary tools.
- Monitor and manage inventory, ordering supplies and materials as needed to support lesson plans.
- Assist in setting up displays of students' work, including project showcases and exhibitions.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Support teachers in demonstrations and lesson preparation to facilitate a smooth and effective learning experience.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Relevant experience or qualifications in a related technical field, ideally within a school or educational environment.
- Familiarity with Design Technology and Food Technology equipment and tools.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to health and safety.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
- Proactive problem-solver with the ability to handle technical issues efficiently.
