A leading main contractor is seeking a Design Manager in Bristol to join the delivery of a major £120m+ landmark manufacturing and technology facility. The Opportunity
You’ll play a central role within the technical and design delivery team for a landmark advanced manufacturing development featuring complex structures, high‑spec industrial environments, specialist MEP integration and highly serviced internal spaces.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate design across major technical, structural and MEP packages
- Oversee the design process from pre‑construction through delivery
- Work closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants and specialist suppliers
- Manage design information flow and ensure accuracy, compliance and buildability
- Drive value engineering, risk management and design reviews
- Support tender, pre‑construction and live‑site technical resolution
- Run design workshops, consultant meetings and coordination sessions
Ideal Candidate Experience
- Proven track record as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager
- Experience across complex, high‑value new‑build schemes (£50m–£200m)
- Strong technical background in structural, envelope and MEP coordination
- Ability to manage multiple design packages and consultant teams
- Comfortable working within regulated or secure project environments
- Strong coordination, communication and problem‑solving abilities
