Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Your new role
We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school catering to pupils aged 4–16. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. You’ll help deliver tailored learning activities, provide one-to-one and small group support, and assist with personal care and behaviour management where required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting pupils with complex needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, or willingness to train
