Staff Data Scientist – Machine Learning & Engineering

We’re working with a leading global brand at the forefront of AI-driven digital experiences, currently looking to bring on board a Staff Data Scientist to lead and architect high-impact machine learning projects. This is a key role within a high-performing team, focused on building intelligent, predictive, and personalised solutions that transform how users interact with digital platforms.

Tech Environment Includes: Python (core language), with some exposure to TypeScript and Scala Cloud: AWS and Azure Tools: GitHub, Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Kubernetes Data: Pandas, PySpark, Spark LLMs: Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead delivery across complex data science projects, fostering collaboration and growth within the team
  • Architect scalable ML systems to solve real-world challenges
  • Shape and execute the strategic roadmap for data science initiatives
  • Make key technical decisions and mentor others
  • Champion best practices in ML development and software engineering
  • Support hiring and continuous learning across the team
Skills & Experience:
  • Strong background in distributed data processing (e.g. Spark, cloud platforms)
  • Experience with ML deployment frameworks (e.g. Kubeflow)
  • Advanced SQL and data pipeline development (e.g. Airflow)
  • Solid testing practices across unit, integration, and coverage
  • Comfortable working with product teams and translating technical concepts for broader audiences
Education: PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
