Facilitate workshops to gather business and data requirements
We are currently seeking an experienced Data Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst to join our client on a long-term contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and improving data structures, governance, and insight across the organisation.
Your new role
- Facilitate workshops and gather business and data requirements from stakeholders
- Analyse existing documentation and workshop outputs to identify key insights
- Produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentation materials to explain data clearly
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify and resolve data-related issues
- Develop and maintain data glossaries, data catalogues, and data dictionaries
- Operate within an agile delivery environment
- Design and develop database structures and data models
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong experience in data modelling, including concepts such as cardinality, normalisation, entity-relationship modelling, dimensional and hierarchical models, Kimball methodology, primary and foreign keys
- Proven ability to use modelling and collaboration tools such as Lucidchart, MS Visio, Miro (or similar)
- Experience producing reports and presentations that translate data into meaningful insights
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Good understanding of data governance principles, including data retention and GDPR
