Data Analyst, SQL, Power BI, 5 Days On-Site, 3-month contract
Your new role
This is a hands-on role that combines Excel, Access, SQL and application configuration, giving you the opportunity to work directly with customer data and gain a deep understanding of how business systems operate behind the scenes. You'll be responsible for preparing and importing customer datasets, validating outcomes, troubleshooting issues, and helping configure how information is presented within the application.

Key Responsibilities
Data Preparation & Transformation
- Prepare, cleanse and structure customer datasets using Microsoft Excel.
- Utilise formulas, lookups, data validation and transformation techniques to ensure data quality.
- Review and resolve data anomalies prior to import.
Database Management
- Import customer data into an Access-based database.
- Maintain data integrity throughout the import and validation process.
- Understand database structures, including tables, relationships and queries.
SQL & Data Analysis
- Write and modify SQL queries within Access.
- Extract, analyse and validate data for testing and reporting purposes.
- Investigate data discrepancies and support issue resolution.
Application Testing & Configuration
- Validate imported data within the live business application.
- Test functionality and confirm customer data is displayed accurately.
- Configure screens, views and interface elements to present SQL output clearly to end users.
- Support ongoing enhancements to improve the user experience.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality and data-loading processes.
- Work closely with developers and application specialists to resolve issues.
- Contribute ideas to improve workflow efficiency and reporting accuracy.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and data manipulation.
- Experience working with Microsoft Access databases.
- Basic SQL query writing and data analysis skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly.
