If you’re ready to take the next step in your credit control career and want a role where your expertise genuinely shapes the performance of a busy, fast‑paced department, this opportunity offers exactly that. You’ll be joining a supportive team, working closely with the Credit Manager, and playing a key part in strengthening the company’s financial position.
This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys structure, thrives in a collaborative office environment, and wants to build on their supervisory experience while still staying hands‑on with day‑to‑day credit control activity.

As the Senior Credit Controller, you’ll be the right hand to the Credit Manager and a trusted support for the Credit Controllers. Your work will directly influence cash flow, customer relationships, and the overall efficiency of the department.
Your key responsibilities include:
  • Chasing overdue payments via phone, email, and written communication.
  • Monitoring customer credit limits and balances, assessing creditworthiness, and recommending appropriate limits.
  • Investigating and resolving payment disputes by working closely with internal teams.
  • Maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date records of all communications and payment histories.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve cash collections and streamline processes.
  • Managing your own ledger while guiding and supporting the Credit Controllers.
  • Opening new accounts and updating existing customer information.
  • Posting and allocating cash within the finance system.
  • Providing occasional reception switchboard cover and assisting with end‑of‑day post (minimal).

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong background in credit control within a busy sales‑driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with Kerridge and/or GPS Order/Lisec is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm, professional approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solution‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Adaptability, teamwork, and confidence working independently when needed.
  • You need to demonstrate where you have been responsible for reviewing and setting credit limits for customers.

What you'll get in return

  • A clear step up for someone with credit experience who wants more responsibility without losing the hands‑on element.
  • A stable Monday–Friday routine, giving you predictable hours and your evenings and weekends free.
  • A collaborative office environment where you can build strong relationships with colleagues across sales, finance, and operations.
  • A role with real influence, where your decisions directly support the company’s financial health.
  • A supportive manager who values initiative, teamwork, and professional growth.
