LEGAL CREDIT CONTROLLER

Your new company

I am partnering with a fast-growing organisation that has recently expanded their operations, creating the need for additional support within their finance department. They are known for their supportive, welcoming culture and maintain a close-knit accounts team where everyone works collaboratively. As the business continues to scale, this part-time Credit Controller position has been newly created to strengthen their credit processes, with genuine potential for the role to become full-time over time.

Your new role

You will take responsibility for managing the company’s debtor ledger, ensuring payments are collected efficiently, and client communication is handled with professionalism and care. Your day-to-day duties will include contacting clients regarding overdue balances, sending reminders and statements, maintaining accurate credit control records and escalating aged debts to legal action when required. You will also prepare regular debtor reports for the Finance Manager, flag risks and support the ongoing improvement of credit control procedures as the business continues to grow. This is a role where you can have real influence and help shape how the function develops.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in credit control, ideally within a legal, financial or professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of legal debt processes including CCJs, small claims and enforcement
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive or challenging conversations
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial and credit control records
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, suited to working within a small, supportive finance team

What you'll get in return

  • Salary of £35,000 FTE with a part time schedule of at least 3 days per week
  • The opportunity to shape and develop a newly created role from day one
  • A supportive and people focused working environment within a friendly accounts team
  • Real long term potential for the position to grow into a full time role as the business continues to expand
  • A role offering autonomy, stability and room to progress
