Senior Credit Analyst - Corporate Banking

Your new company

A leading international bank is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Credit Analyst to join its Credit Risk function in London. This role sits within the second line of defence (2LoD) and plays a critical part in supporting the bank’s corporate and institutional business through robust credit risk assessment and monitoring.


Your new role

  • Prepare detailed credit risk assessments and recommendations for new and existing corporate clients, based on proposals submitted by front office teams.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of counterparties, industries, financial statements, cash flows, and transaction structures.
  • Draft and update credit applications, including waiver requests, limit renewals, and new transaction proposals.
  • Present credit reports to internal Credit Committees and respond to queries from senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with first line of defence (1LoD) teams to support business strategy and client onboarding.
  • Monitor credit exposures and industry developments across an assigned portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to track credit and market signals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and procedures.
  • Manage the end-to-end credit approval process using internal systems and coordinate with front office teams to meet timelines.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in corporate credit analysis, ideally within an international banking environment. Seeking candidates with relevant Oil & Gas experience.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk principles, financial analysis, and industry risk assessment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex credit issues clearly.
  • Familiarity with credit approval systems and regulatory expectations in the UK market.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
