Are you ready to make a real difference in a child’s final year of primary school? A vibrant and inclusive school in Lewisham is looking for a Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a pupil 1:1 as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
About the Role
You’ll be working closely with a Year 6 pupil who requires additional support to access learning and build confidence. Your role will involve:
- Providing tailored 1:1 support in class and during interventions.
- Helping the pupil develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
- Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
- Supporting the pupil’s transition to secondary school with care and consistency.
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Experienced in supporting children with SEN, ideally in KS2.
- Calm, patient, and adaptable in their approach.
- A strong communicator and team player.
- Committed to inclusion and child-centred support.
- DBS-checked (or willing to apply).
