Early Years Teaching Assistant job to start ASAP until at least July.

Early Years Teaching Assistant Job in Morley, South Leeds

I am working with a two-form entry school based in Morley who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team to work in their early years classes. They are a wonderful school which has been graded "Good" by Ofsted. They put learning at the heart of everything they do. The school community works together to create an innovative learning environment and curriculum for our children. On my regular visits to the school, the Head and Deputy are often in fancy dress or organising brilliant events to bring the curriculum and learning to life. Their aim is to prepare children for the future, ensuring they have the skills and attributes to contribute to society in a positive way. The school is well located for public transport connections from Leeds city centre and is close to the M621 and M62.

The role will mainly be based in Reception and Nursery, often providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs but also acting as a general TA across the class where needed. The team are fantastic and work closely together to provide engaging and fun lessons.
The role is to start as soon as possible on an ongoing basis until the summer holidays, but there is the potential for it to be a temporary to permanent role for the right candidate.

What you'll need to succeed

- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a nursery or school setting, is an advantage. However, you must have a minimum of 40 days' experience working with children. This can be through volunteer work, sports coaching, guides/brownies too.

- An Early Years qualification is an advantage
- Experience working with children with special educational needs is an advantage
- A hard-working, reliable and flexible approach to work as you may be called upon to do different roles in the setting throughout the day
- a smile, a good sense of humour and a passion to work with young children
