Role: General Class Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Salary: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

Hays is working with a local Secondary School to recruit a full-time general TA. Starting ASAP, this contract will run to the end of the academic year.

Your new role

In the role of teaching assistant, you are responsible for supporting pupils either during lessons, in a group setting or on a 1:1 basis, providing extra support when pupils may be struggling across both KS3 and KS4. You should possess good behaviour management skills and have recent experience working with children, particularly in secondary education. For these roles you will need to come in and hit the ground running by building up those relationships with pupils as well as staff.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you will need a full DBS/Documents to apply for one as well as:

• Experience working with children where references can be obtained, e.g. sports coach/after-school clubs/brownies lead etc.
• Confident supporting students with Maths and English amongst other subjects
• Ability to take both 1:1 and group work
• Strong communication skills
• Strong relationship building skills
• Ability to effectively work in a team and following instructions
• Relevant Level 3 qualification (desired)
