Teaching Assistant – Caerphilly

Your new role:
This full-time role involves supporting pupils across Years 1 to 6, five days a week. You will assist the class teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. Working closely with students, your role will involve providing targeted support to individuals and small groups to help them achieve their full potential. You will also contribute to classroom management, resource preparation, and implementing tailored intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting pupils in their academic, emotional, and social development.
• Assisting in delivering engaging lesson plans and learning activities.
• Providing one-to-one or small group support for children with additional learning needs.
• Helping to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Preparing resources and assisting in setting up activities for lessons.
• Building strong, professional relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
What you’ll need to succeed:
To excel in this role, you must have prior experience working with children in a school or similar setting. While a Teaching Assistant qualification (such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) is preferred, we welcome applications from those with transferable skills and a passion for working in education. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles are essential.
A current DBS check is required, or you must be willing to complete one. Key personal attributes include enthusiasm, reliability, and excellent time management. You should also be proactive, patient, and committed to helping young learners achieve their best.
