SEN Teaching Assistant, Long Term, Complex Needs in Secondary Setting
Your new company
An SEN Secondary School in South Birmingham is looking for an SEN Assistant to cover a long-term absence. It is a successful school with a long and proven track-record of providing high quality education for pupils with ASD. The school has strong leadership, gained a 'good' in their last Ofsted and gives support and development to members of staff working in the school on a temporary basis. The role is Monday to Friday and is term time only. The post is to start as soon as possible and the role will run in the first instance, up until the October half-term in the first instance, and possibly beyond.
Your new role
You will be working with a class of 12 Year 9 pupils providing support to the pupils and working alongside other Teaching Assistants and the Class Teacher.
You will be supporting pupils with teaching and learning as well as with behaviour and social and emotional wellbeing.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have recent experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant and have experience of working with children with Autism.
You will ideally also have Team Teach training or an understanding of the process.
