Interim Repairs Contracts Manager £27 per hour | Midlands-based | Full-time | Immediate Start | 3–6-Month Contract

Are you an experienced contracts or repairs manager with a strong background in housing maintenance? We’re recruiting for an interim Repairs Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of responsive and planned maintenance services across a large housing portfolio.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing multi-million-pound contracts, managing internal teams and external contractors, and ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance, and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage housing repairs contracts, including backlog and planned works
  • Supervise repairs teams, including planners, trade operatives, and contractors
  • Monitor contractor performance against KPIs and ensure contractual compliance
  • Manage budgets and financial forecasting for repairs and maintenance
  • Drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Prepare performance reports and respond to escalated complaints and enquiries
  • Promote health and safety compliance and risk management
  • Collaborate with procurement, legal, and quantity surveying teams
✅ Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience managing high-value housing repairs contracts
  • Strong knowledge of responsive and planned maintenance operations
  • Familiarity with JCT contracts and Schedule of Rates (SORs)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Technical and supervisory experience in building maintenance
  • Understanding of local government governance and working with elected members
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
