About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Freelance Contracts Manager to take responsibility for a range of new build and refurbishment projects across Berkshire. The schemes range from £2m to £5m, and you’ll play a key role in ensuring they run smoothly, safely, and to programme.
You’ll be joining a busy contractor with a strong pipeline of work, so this role suits someone confident managing multiple live projects and comfortable taking ownership from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee several projects across Berkshire, covering both new build and refurbishment work.
- Lead site teams and maintain high standards of health and safety.
- Manage programmes, subcontractors and site resources.
- Keep firm control of project budgets and maintain commercial awareness.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, the supply chain and professional teams.
- Chair progress meetings and provide clear updates on project status.
- Ensure quality expectations are met on every scheme.
- Resolve issues quickly to keep projects moving.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction industry.
- Solid background working on both new build and refurbishment projects.
- Experience running projects in the £2m–£5m range.
- Comfortable managing multiple schemes at the same time.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to work independently.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Berkshire.
Contract Details
- Length: 6 months
- Rate: £360–£400 per day (Ltd / Umbrella & NO CIS )
- Start: Immediate or within your notice period
